1. Follow N2 from Mtubatuba towards Hluhluwe.
2. Approximately 20km from Mtuba, turn right at the sign to Charter's Creek.
3. Approximately 12km after turning right, you will come to security gate at entrance to iSmangaliso Park. Sign the book and tell guard you are going to Makakatana. He will let you through.
4. You will see a left turn to Fanies' Island. Do NOT take this turn.
5. Shortly after the turn-off to Fanies' Island, the tar ends.
6. Soon after the end of the tar (approx 1 km) you will see signs to Makakatana Bay Lodge.
7. Turn right at this sign and follow road for about 1 km.
8. You will see another left turn, marked Makakatana Bay Lodge. Take this left turn.
9. Follow road until it enters bush canopy.
10. As you enter the bush canopy, take the track to left and follow the track past driveways until the track ends.
11. At end of the track, turn right into the driveway to house.
